 ?  Why food service not included in the Budget Arrangement? You can buy meals from local ger guesthouses by paying only 2 or 3 usd per meal. There is plenty of food shops on the way when you are touring. You can carry your own food from UB. It is nice you eat our own breakfast and then buy meals for lunch and dinner. Detailed Itinerary

Day1. Elsen Tasarkhai Sands- camel ride

pick you up from your accommodation – drive to Elsen Tasarkhai /280 km/ – lunch time – camel ride (2 hours) – dinner time – overnight there

Elsen Tasarkhai Sands is smaller sand dunes, several km long, continuously lies in the lowland of Khugnu Khan Mountain. Sand dunes represents landscape, climate & ecology of Gobi Desert, in this region. After lunch time, we will ride camels here. The two-humped camels are very comfortable to ride, as they walk slowly and gently and we will be well supported by the humps, sitting comfortably between them.

Day2. Karakorum- Genghis Khan’s capital city

breakfast time – drive to Karakorum /85 km/  – half day Karakorum tour: Erdene Zuu Monastery, Karakorum Museum and Karakorum Open Museum and – lunch time – free time – overnight there

Karakorum, the capital of Great Mongolian State where today there is a small local township. In the history, the city of Karakorum was founded in 1220 in Orkhon River Valley by order of Genghis Khan and after collapsing of Yuan dynasty of Khuvilai Khan Min state’s invaders sacked the city and massacred its inhabitants in 1388 and ruined it.

Day3. Khushuu Tsaidam Monument – ancient Turkish site & Ugii Lake- boating and fishing

breakfast time – drive to Kultegen and Bilge Khaan’s Legendary Monuments /35 km/ – visit to the site – drive to Lake Ugii /41 km/ – dinner time – boating on the Lake – overnight there

Khushuu Tsaidam Monuments are two memorial stone installations erected by the Turkish people written in Old Turkic alphabet in the early 8th century in the Orkhon Valley. This small picturesque lake is called a paradise for fishers and covers area of only 27 km.sq, average depth of the Lake is 6.64m and deepest point is over 15 m. Its shore length is 23 km. In the afternoon, we will do some boating experience and fishing there.

Day4. Khustai National Park- wild horses and nomadic family

breakfast time – drive to Khustai National Park /289 km/ → lunch time – visit to nomadic family home and experience nomadic way of life → dinner time – overnight in the nomadic family home

National Park Khustai where re-introduction of the wild takhi horses (Przhevalsky’s horses) has taken place since 1992. Takhi is last wild horse subspecies surviving in the 21st century. It was discovered in western Mongolia in the late 1870s by the Russian explorer N.M. Przhevalsky. On arrival you will have lunch at the nomads’ ger. Enjoy the joyful atmosphere and learn the clever nomads’ way of life by taking every chance of taking part in the nomadic life activities like a nomad.

Day5. Ulaanbaatar

breakfast time – horse back riding – drive to Ulaanbaatar /76 km/ – transfer to your accommodation – end
