Day1. Arrive in the Zamyn-Uud border town & drive to Khamar Monastery

We will pick you up from the border of Zamyn-Uud border town and drive to Khamar Monastery (245 km – 3 hours on the paved road). The Khamar Monastery was established by educator, poet and noble monk Danzanravjaa in 1820. He chose the site of the monastery believing the surrounding area radiated with a spiritual energy fostered by the Gobi desert. But the monastery was completely destroyed by communist purges in 1937. Rebuilding efforts still continued from 1992 and got large success. Overnight in the tourist ger camp.

Day2. Khamar Monastery tour & drive to Ikh Nart Nature Reserve

After breakfast time, we will drive to Khamar Monastery (35 km on the paved road) & see 108 Caves, dinosaur skeleton on the ground and petrified threes of Jurassic Period respectively. Also, we will hike around and enjoy small sand dunes. Then we will will drive to Khusliin Khar Mountain (25 km on dirt road). It is believed to be the executor of the dream of the people. Climb up there & view from the top is spectacular. After lunch time, we will drive to Ikh Nart Nature Reserve (230 km – 3 hours on the paved road). It is rocky hills or small mountains in the middle of steppe with semi-desert landscape, Ikh Nart which not filled by tourists & you will find gorgeous looking nature. This rocky landscape has weathered over millennia, into domes, weird shapes, craggy ridges and a mind-boggling range of textures.  It’s a favorite with wild life enthusiasts — it harbors large populations of argali sheep is a sure draw. Overnight in the tent.

Day3. Ikh Nart Nature Reserve tour & Genghis Equestrian Statue 

After breakfast time, we will hike around the 2 springs, Khalzan Mountain and Burgasan Am for looking argali sheep. After lunch time, we will drive to Genghis Equestrian Statue (275 km – 4 hours on the paved road). 40 m high Genghis Khan’s Horse Statue is believed to be highest equestrian statue in the World. There’s an elevator to observation desk on the top of the horse head & we will go there for taking pictures. Then drive to Gorkhi-Terelj National Park (40 km – 1 hour on the paved road). Overnight in the tourist ger camp.

Day4. Gorkhi-Terelj National Park

After breakfast time, we will see the gigantic Turtle Rock. Then we will have some horse ride (2 hours). This ride will take you back through the Turtle Rock area to the beautiful sites and sounds of mother nature for a several mile journey up the mountain to view. With no experience required. Then we will make short hike to picturesque lovely meditation Ariyabal Temple which is surrounded by scenic and rocky mountains and sits at middle of the them. It is not old temple. To get to the top, you would cross the suspension bridge and climb up on 108 stairs, according to Buddhist prayer beads. In the afternoon, you will have time to relax and enjoy the natural surroundings. Then we will drive to Ulaanbaatar city (60 km – 2 hours on the paved road). Overnight in the hotel.

Day5. Ulaanbaatar City Tour

After breakfast time, we will go to Main Squire. Its official name is Sukhbaatar Squire & it is located in the center of Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia. We will do some short visits to the sights & then go to National History Museum. Exhibits of the museum show the history and culture of Mongols from ages as early as the Stone Age and up to the modern days. We will be there about 2 hours. After lunch time we will go to Gandan Main Monastery. It currently has over 150 monks in residence. It features a 26.5-meter-high statue of Migjid Janraisig, a Buddhist bodhisattva also known as Avalokitesvara. Then we will go to visit to Dinosaur Museum. Mongolia is famous on its dinosaur findings and one of the top 5 countries. Skeletons, fossilized skin, eggs, footprints from the Four Corners region and throughout the Mongolia. After that we will go to folk music concert. It is a rare opportunity to experience live traditional Mongolian music! Mongolian throat singing, horse fiddle music instrument, dance and long drawn song etc. Overnight in the hotel.

Day6. Amarbayasgalant Monastery

After breakfast time, we will drive to Amarbayasgalant Monastery (330 km – 6 hours on the paved road). English meaning of the monastery is Monastery of Tranquil Felicity. It is a large and best preserved in Mongolia. By the order of Kang Xi of Qun built in 1736 for commemorate for Zanabazar who is first bogd of Mongolian Buddhism. The monastery was sacked in 1937 during Stalinist purges. After the restoration, started from 1988, the monastery complex eventually took its former glory. Now this monastery is active one & also work as museum. We will walk there and explore the monastery. Overnight in the local ger guesthouse.

Day7. Saikhanii Khutul Mountain

After breakfast time, we will drive to Saikhanii Khutul (235 km – 5 hours on the paved road). However, It is not one of the tallest mountains in the county but it is very famous among the tourists and travelers because of the amazing view offered. Located in the border zone of Mongolia & Russia &, this area offers splendid views of the scenic beauty of Selenge & Orkhon Rivers confluence which are highly worthy of being photographed. The best way to witness the beauty of this place is drive to the observation desk area & do little hikes on hill of the mountain. Overnight in the local hotel.

Day8. Altanbulag & Khiagt border cross.

After breakfast time, we will drive to the Altanbulag border town (25 km on the paved road) & you will be transferred to the border for crossing to Khiagt town of Russia.

End time: Around 11:00 o’clock
Total driving distance: 1580 km (+660 + 350)
